Driving in Girona
Driving in Girona is a rather easy pursuit and the town is well connected to highways leading south to Barcelona and north to the French border. While it is not advised to drive in the historic centre, there is plenty of parking close by.
When you drive in Spain, there is a speed limit in urban areas and cities are capped at 50 km/h, while country roads are 90 km/h and motorways are 120 km/h.
Toll roads in Spain which can be paid with cash, credit/debit card or electronically. There are a number of routes however that can be taken to avoid taking toll roads should you wish to travel at a more relaxed pace.
When driving through the Costa Brava, there are often a number of tiny towns that have a road going through the centre as well as one that skirts around the outside. If you are travelling with a larger car, opt for the latter route in order to avoid narrow streets and paths.

Just 200 kilometres to the south of Girona, is Port Aventura - the largest amusement park in Spain.
