When will the vehicle be collected?
Your vehicle will be collected within 8 working hours from the moment your rental period ends.
To help you understand how this works, please note the following:
1. The 8 Working Hour Collection Window
The collection timeframe begins when your rental contract expires. However, this calculation only includes the collection location's working hours.
2. Location Operating Hours
Working hours are based on the opening times of the Europcar location responsible for collecting your vehicle. This means:
- Weekends: Some locations operate reduced hours or may be closed.
- Bank Holidays: These are not counted within the 8 working hour window.
- Check Opening Times: You can view the collection location hours at www.europcar.co.uk.
3. Your Responsibility Until Collection
Until the vehicle has been collected, please ensure:
- The vehicle and keys remain accessible.
- The vehicle is parked in a suitable location where it can remain for the full 8 working hours without incurring parking fines, congestion charges, penalties or causing any obstruction.
Example
If your rental ends at 4:00pm on a Friday and the collection location closes at 5:00pm, only one working hour is counted that day. If the rental location is closed over the weekend, the remaining hours will resume when the location reopens on Monday.
4. If your vehicle has not been collected within 8 working hours
We always aim to collect your rental vehicle within the agreed timeframe. If the vehicle has not been collected after 8 working hours, please contact your local Europcar location so we can promptly review and prioritise your collection.
Before contacting us, please ensure the following:
- The vehicle remains accessible
- It is parked safely and legally to avoid any fines or charges
Our team will investigate and provide you with an updated collection timeframe as quickly as possible.
