What happens if I do not arrive to collect the car?

We understand travel plans can change. To avoid significant fees, we strongly recommend cancelling your reservation if you cannot make the scheduled pick-up time.


1. Avoiding Fees (The Cancellation Window)

Free Cancellation

At least 48 hours before your scheduled hire start time.

You avoid all cancellation and no-show fees (unless you booked a restricted package).


How to Cancel:

  • Direct Booking: Cancel online via the Europcar website or through our Reservation Centre.
  • Third-Party Booking: You must cancel through your original travel provider (e.g., travel agent, online booking platform).

2. No-Show Consequences

A No-Show occurs if you miss your scheduled pick-up time and have not formally cancelled the reservation. In this case, a No-Show Fee will apply.

The No-Show Fee will be deducted from your prepaid amount.


Pay on Arrival

The No-Show Fee will be charged to the payment method provided at the time of booking.


No Payment Details

You may still be held liable for the fee and subsequent collection action.


Important: Fees will be charged in the local currency or your card’s billing currency, using the exchange rate and terms in effect at the time of the transaction.


3. Non-Refundable/Restricted Offers

If you booked a special package (e.g., "Light Package") explicitly marked as non-refundable or non-changeable:

  • Cancellations or changes are not allowed.
  • No refunds will be issued in the event of a cancellation or a No-Show.
