In most countries, you must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least one year to rent a car with Europcar. However, age requirements can vary depending on:

Young Driver? Here's What You Need to Know
If you're under 26, a Young Driver Surcharge may apply. This helps cover additional insurance costs and is standard in many countries. The fee and conditions depend on:
- Your age
- Your destination
- The type of vehicle you’re renting
You can view the exact charges in the Specific Terms per country, or they’ll appear automatically during online booking if you’ve logged in with your Europcar Driver ID.
Renting in the UK?
- Minimum age: 21 years old
- Maximum age: No upper limit in most locations
- Exceptions: In Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, and York, the maximum age is 75 years old
