Birmingham Airport is the 7th busiest in the UK. It handles over 10 million passengers a year and flies to both domestic and international destinations. It is located six miles east of Birmingham city centre, at Bickenhill in Solihull.
Birmingham Airport car hire
As the largest city outside London, you’ll find no shortage of things to do in Birmingham itself. However, those flying in for a few days will certainly benefit from hiring a car as this provides a great opportunity to explore beyond the metropolitan area – although Europcar do also offer hourly car hire for those who are a bit more pressed for time.
You may well arrive at Birmingham Airport if you’re heading off to the Cotswolds or the Shropshire Hills. Both of these areas have been designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tranquil and somewhat off the beaten track, they can only really be properly explored by car.
If you’re in the market for activities rather than nature, other attractions a short drive from Birmingham include Warwick Castle, where brave souls can take a walk through the dungeon; The Black Country Living Museum, where costumed characters bring history to life; and Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. If you’re travelling with kids, you might also want to pay a visit to Go Ape at Cannock Chase, a forest adventure course featuring zip wires and Tarzan swings.
For those flying home from elsewhere, Europcar also offers one way car hire so that you pick up your vehicle from Birmingham Airport and drop it off somewhere else before you leave.
