Driving in Lyon
When driving in France you must stay on the right hand side of the road unless you are overtaking. The roads are generally well-maintained with signposts to local attractions making it difficult to get lost. That said, as Lyon is an ancient city, the roads can become narrow at times so be sure to drive carefully and take your time as you navigate the traffic system. Also, be aware that Lyon is a low emissions zone and access will depend on the type of vehicle you drive.
Parking is relatively easy in Lyon thanks to the many off-street parking areas where you can leave your vehicle for an unlimited period of time. On-street parking is also available but this is more restrictive, so be sure to read nearby signage to avoid fines.
