Offering both domestic and international flights across the world, Birmingham Airport is a bustling hub of activity welcoming millions of passengers each year. The city centre is just 10 kilometres away, so why not rent a car and get your trip off to a great start?
Europcar Birmingham Airport is located on-site at the Arrivals Hall along Airport Way opening long hours for your convenience. We are situated just five minutes from Birmingham International train station.
Whether you want to nip around the city centre or head out into the rolling countryside, you’ll need a comfortable hire car to get you from A to B. At Europcar Birmingham Airport our cars range from small and compact like the budget-friendly Fiat 500 to fully air-conditioned people carriers such as the Ford Galaxy Auto which seats up to seven people and four cases with ease. So, if it’s five doors you’re looking for or a ride with plenty of legroom – we can help.
Our service is friendly, efficient and flexible with both short and long-term car rental solutions allowing you to rent by the day, week or month depending on your needs. We’ll also make it easy for you to drop your car back at any Europcar station across the UK, so feel free to travel widely.
Once you’ve touched down and collected your hire car, the real fun can start. Birmingham offers a wealth of unforgettable attractions including Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Centre, Birmingham SEA Life Centre, Thinktank (Birmingham’s award-winning science museum), Birmingham Botanical Gardens & Glasshouses, Cadbury’s World, Aston Villa Football Club and more.
There’s something for everyone in this bustling part of the UK and with a hire car you’ll be able to head further out of the city to places like Dudley Zoological Gardens or Warwick Castle – a fabulously historic landmark located just a 40 minute drive away. You may also decide to head north to well-known cities such as Liverpool, Sheffield and Manchester or travel down south to Stratford-Upon-Avon – the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
If you’d like to escape the city and enjoy a break in the country, the Peak District is less than a two hour drive away, or there’s the Lake District further north.
People in Birmingham drive on the left hand side of the road and overtake on the right. They sit on the right hand side of the car.
Roads can be busy during rush hour periods which tend to fall between 7-9 in the morning and 5-7 at night from Monday to Friday. If you venture into the country, you’ll find the roads are a lot less congested than they are on major routes, but beware of narrow lanes and tight corners.
As in most UK cities, there is ample parking with private operators such as NCP providing a safe place to leave your vehicle. If you decide to use on-street parking, be aware of time limits and potential charges if you overstay.
We are proud to be European leaders in car rental. To find out more about the Europcar car hire experience, be sure to visit our car rental page!
When planning a trip, keep in mind that certain cities have established a Clean Air Zone. Click here to check that your vehicle emissions meet the required level or a fee will be chargeable.
You can rest assured when hiring with us, all Europcar vehicles comply with Clean Air Zone requirements.
