Can I pay with someone else’s credit card?
For rentals taking place in the UK, you are generally permitted to pay for the rental charges using a credit card that is not in the main driver's name.
However, this is only allowed under strict conditions at the time of vehicle pick-up.
Mandatory Requirements at Pick-Up
Both the Main Driver and the Third-Party Cardholder MUST be present at the rental counter when collecting the vehicle.
Party | Action / Requirement
The Main Driver | The booking must be made in the main driver's name.
The Cardholder | Must present the physical payment card used for the booking.
The Cardholder | Must provide a proof of address (e.g., a recent utility bill or bank statement) to verify their identity.
Deposit | Crucially: Even if a third-party card is used for the rental payment, a separate payment method (preferably a credit card) in the main driver's name may still be required to secure the mandatory security deposit. |
If these conditions are not met, the rental cannot be completed, and the vehicle will not be released.
If you have any questions about this specific arrangement, please contact our team before your rental date for confirmation.
