Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford Airport – sometimes referred to as Yeadon Airport by locals – is the 16th busiest airport in the UK, handling around 3.4 million passengers a year. It lies seven miles north-west of Leeds city centre and a similar distance north-east of Bradford city centre.

As well as providing easy access to the two cities from which it takes its name, Leeds Bradford Airport is also well situated for those wishing to visit popular tourist destinations such as York or the Yorkshire Dales.
Yorkshire’s popularity as a leisure destination has soared since it hosted the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in 2014. Those who admired the Yorkshire scenery during that race – and in the Tour de Yorkshire race which arose as a result of it – will surely be keen to see the landscape first hand.
Airport car rental means this can easily be achieved. Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just a short drive away and beyond that lie the Dales. Although it’s over the border in Lancashire, The Forest of Bowland offers further spectacular views and then of course there’s the North York Moors to the north-east with its idyllic villages, stately homes and stunning coastline.
With just a few days of car hire, you can explore much of this area and York itself is certainly worth a visit too. With its striking Minster and city walls, it’s a beautiful town in which to stay, full of tea shops, pubs and restaurants.
