There are various car and van rental options in Figari. Smaller cars such as the Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Polo are perfect for zipping around the island in comfort, while families and larger groups may prefer roomier models such as the Ford Focus or Peugeot Partner.

Driving in Figari
In Corsica, similar to mainland France, cars drive on the right hand side of the road. Speed limit signs are displayed in kilometres per hour and signposts show distances in kilometres.
In order to rent a car in Corsica with Europcar, you need a valid EU driver’s licence.
Although the maximum speed limit on Corsica, as in France, is 90 km/h, the winding and hilly terrain and poor road conditions generally mean you will not be travelling faster than 60 km/h. Because of the variable terrain, allow for more time than usual when travelling around the island.
While the roads in Corsica have improved in recent years, be aware that some might not be in good condition, with potholes etc. Also look out for slow moving traffic, animals on the road, and scooters and motorbikes which are often popular transport choices on islands like Corsica.
Parking conditions vary across the island, with long-stay car parks available at most beaches and town centres. Street parking is free outside urban areas.
Discover Figari and surroundings by car
Figari is an ideal location to rent a car for exploring the island. Start your trip by visiting some of the surrounding villages with their 12th century Roman chapels, before visiting the beaches favoured by windsurfers and kite surfers. There are a number of small creeks and bays around Figari.
The more decadent town of Calvi in the north, a favourite for the super-yachts, is just 200 kilometres away and boasts long sandy beaches, luxury hotels and charming bars and restaurants.
The Golfe de Porto UNESCO Nature Site is a protected area on the west coast of Corsica. With impressive red cliffs that drop into the sea, crystal-clear waters, and untamed Mediterranean vegetation, the area is one of the most beautiful on the island. Snorkelling and diving are highly recommended within this remote, protected environment.
With a rental from Europcar you can explore this dramatic coastline at your leisure.
Things to see in Figari

Some of the best locations for spotting nature are the Désert des Agriates, the mountainous Valdo-Niello Forest, and the Bouches de Bonifacio in the south. Popular beaches can be found around Porto Vecchio, just outside of Figari, while charming historical towns such as Sartène are testimony to the rich mix of cultural influences and heritage found on Corsica.
