Driving in France

In France, cars drive on the right-hand side of the road. At junctions, you must give way to vehicles approaching from the right. It is prohibited to drive while using headsets or headphones, whether using them to listen to music or make phone calls. If you are caught, there is a £80 fine.

You must also respect the following speed limits: 130 km/h on motorways, 110 km/h on dual carriageways, 90 km/h on other road types and 50 km/h in built up areas.In wet weather conditions, motorway speed limits are 110 km/h. If your visibility is less than 50 metres, the speed limit is 50 km/h on all road types.
