With events lined up over three whole days in May, there’s no doubt the King’s coronation will be a spectacular celebration!

The ceremony is taking place at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday 6 May and will see King Charles III crowned monarch and Camilla crowned Queen Consort.

To mark this historic occasion there will be an extra bank holiday on Monday 8 May.

Soak up the atmosphere in London

A huge amount of pomp and ceremony is planned for the big day, with festivities set to include two royal processions.

If you want to catch a glimpse of the new King and Queen, they’ll travel in splendid state coaches to and from the Abbey, before gathering with other members of the Royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Other magnificent events over the weekend include a star-studded concert and laser light show at Windsor Castle.

Throw a street party

It’s time to bake cupcakes, cut up cucumber sandwiches and hang out bunting!

Come rain or shine, thousands of street parties are expected to take place, with people across the nation coming together for the Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday 7 May.

Visit your family or friends and spend time together enjoying your own celebrations over this historic bank holiday weekend.

Make the most of the long weekend

Not a royal enthusiast? That’s no reason not to enjoy the three-day break!

Hire a car and drive to the coast and or take in the fresh air and stunning scenery of the great British countryside.

What better way to make memories on this momentous occasion than a road trip with your loved ones.
